Event Guidelines

Practical guidelines & safety guard rails to ensure an enjoyable and safe celebration.

1 Have Fun & Celebrate Freedom

Shenanigans, shooting, swimming, slip-and-slides, sparklers, and speeches are all on the agenda. Let's make it a wonderful, unforgettable day of fellowship and fun.

2 Responsible Alcohol Use

We want to celebrate responsibly and avoid being a stumbling block for little eyes. The outdoor coolers/canoe will be filled with non-alcoholic seltzers and water only. Adult beverages (beer, etc.) will be located in the designated garage/pantry area—enjoy responsibly!

3 No Screen Time for Kids

We have a hard rule: **no phones for kids at this event**. We want everyone fully present in the real world. Parents and guardians have a green light to address any kid on a phone immediately. We also request minimal adult social media posting to protect the privacy of the families.

4 Pool Safety & Swim Rules

Due to the high volume of kids, there are designated swimming times when the pool ladder is open. An adult supervisor must always be poolside during these times. We limit the number of active swimmers, and we request floaties/life jackets for any children who cannot touch the bottom. Modest swimwear is requested.

5 Gun Safety & Shooting

Shooting begins with a mandatory 15-minute gun safety briefing. Shooting participation is strictly for ages 15+. Any children attending must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times. Ear protection is provided and required for all spectators and shooters. Only provided event ammunition (designed not to carry beyond safe bounds) is permitted.
